Matthew Foy (Minister)

 

Matthew has been our minister since September 2019.  He is married to Tracey and has two primary school aged children.  Prior to moving to St Leonards, Matthew worked for a church in north London and was trained for ministry at Oak Hill Theological College.  He is passionate about Jesus Christ and his great desire is for people to come to know, love and trust him.  Matthew is also the minister of St Matthew’s Church in Silverhill.  

Ruth Hine (Children, Families and Safeguarding)

 

Ruth has been our Children and Families coordinator since 2014. Ruth worked in India for 7 years, and taught primary age children in London for more than 20 years. She changed career following her husband's death and joined a L’Arche community, living and working with people with learning disabilities. Similar work brought her to Hastings in 2012. Ruth is passionate about justice and mercy and fulfilling Jesus' words to welcome children and bless them.

Janet Crawford (PCC Treasurer and Church Adminstrator)

Janet has been PCC Treasurer for many years having attended St Leonards and St Ethelburga's churches for 35 years.  She retired as a community pharmacist in 2008 and since then has worked as trustee and treasurer for a number of small charities on a voluntary basis.  Janet has recently taken on the role of Church Administrator and cares deeply that we are good stewards of the church finances and communicate Jesus Christ to our congregation and neighbourhood in as many ways as possible.
