Resources for Children and families
Please feel free to use the following resources:-
1. Pentecost activity from Ruth.
On Sunday 31st May we celebrate Pentecost.
You can make a make a Pentecost Mobile or Washing Line to celebrate God
sending his Holy Spirit.
Read the story of Pentecost in Acts 2 v 1 – 4.
Did you notice any symbols of the Holy Spirit in the story? Fire symbolises the strength and power of the Holy Spirit. Cut out paper or cardboard shaped flames from yellow, orange and red paper. You can write a prayer on them if you want. Tie some string on to your flames and hang them onto a mobile or washing line.
Do you know any other symbols of the Holy Spirit that are not in this story?
Read Mark 1 v 10
At Jesus' baptism The Holy Spirit descended on Jesus like a dove. Cut out some dove shapes, glue some feathers and eyes on to your dove. Attach some string and add your doves to your mobile.
Read together Acts 2 v 4 -12The disciples spoke in other languages so everyone could understand them and to tell them that God loves them. The Bible says there were people from at least 16 different countries there and they all heard the message in their own languages. Can you find the words 'Jesus loves you' in different languages? How many can you find? Write them out and hang them from your mobile or washing line.
I would love to see your mobiles or washing lines. You can send me a picture of your mobile to firstname.lastname@example.org
